What to expect

In-Network

This is usually the most affordable options that allows to you to use your insurance benefits to their greatest potential. Sometimes there are negatives that come along with this, such as session limits, a formal diagnosis that will be in your permanent record. If you’re interested in the insurance that I am currently in-network with, I am able to run your insurance and check your benefits.

Accepted Insurance

NIKE Employees: In 2023, Nike is expanding access to behavioral healthcare. You can now visit any provider at in-network benefit level, regardless of whether they are included in the United Health Care Network. To learn more about your benefits visit Nikebenefits.ehr.com and read through the health plan fundamentals document.

Out-of-Network

This one sounds the most complicated, but I guarantee you that it’s not as intimidating as it might sound! Much like an in-network provider, you are still given a formal diagnosis that is put in your health record, insurance can still place restrictions on frequencies, and determine styles of therapy.

If you’ve experienced long waits to see providers, or find your provider is overworked and just going through the motions, this can be a good alternative to expand your options.

This is typically what people use when they are wanting to see a professional that isn’t currently contracted with their insurance company (hence the “out-of-network” status) or to access a counselor that is specific to their needs.

Most insurance plans allow you to see a counselor that is outside of their network. If you’re interested, let me know and I can see if I have access to viewing your benefits. Some insurance companies allow out-of-network providers to inquire about benefits. I would also recommend that you contact your insurance plan’s member services phone number directly and inquire if you are able to work with me and to confirm benefits for out-of-network providers prior to setting up an appointment. I would like to be able to check on your behalf, but many insurance companies don’t allow for inquires from the provider and required that the client or patient contact them directly for confirmation.

Depending on your insurance plan, there is often times a higher deductible to meet and/or a higher co-pay or co-insurance. Your insurance company can inform you of this as well.

Client that choose this option pay me up front and then are reimbursed by the insurance company in 2-4 weeks. Don’t worry, I still do all the courtesy billing on your behalf so you don’t have to stress about paperwork.

Private Pay

Some clients prefer to pay completely out of pocket. This allows for complete anonymity, no formal diagnosis needs to be placed on your permanent record, and there are no restrictions around the treatment that you receive. Additionally, some insurance companies have an extremely long waitlist for any in-network providers, and don’t offer any approval for out of-network providers.
